What is Botox

Botox Injections for skin wrinkling, frown lines and crow’s feet

Botox is one of the most popular non-surgical enhancement procedures in the world. It is a minimally invasive procedure that can give you a more youthful, refreshed appearance by smoothing out signs of wrinkles and fine lines in specific areas of the face.

How does Botox work?

Botox works by targeting one of the underlying causes of dynamic wrinkles – repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Botox blocks the nerve impulse from reaching the area being treated and as a result the muscle is temporarily weakened. In turn, the overlying skin relaxes and the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and smooth out.

The most commonly treated areas are:

  • Crows feet
  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines
  • Laugh lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Chin dimpling

What happens during treatment?

Using a very fine needle we inject Botox into the facial muscles responsible for those annoying wrinkles, totally relaxing them and reducing their ability to contract. When you leave, you will have no downtime and can return to normal activities immediately.

When can I expect my results?

After treatment, the appearance of wrinkles may begin to improve in as little as 24 hours, with most wrinkles releasing after a period of 5-10 days. A two week consultation after your initial injections is a must to make sure your desired goals have been achieved. Botox usually lasts 3-4 month and will then require additional treatment.
